Program Signed: "Joseph/Schildkraut" and "Eva LeGallienne", 14p, 6¾x9¼. Playbill for New York City's Hudson Theatre, week beginning May 16, 1943, for the play Uncle Harry. The play tells the story of bachelor Harry Quincey (Schildkraut), head designer in a small-town cloth factory, who lives with his selfish sisters, glamorous hypochondriac Lettie (LeGallienne) and querulous widow Hester. SCHILDKRAUT (1895-1964) won the 1937 Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for his portrayal of Captain Alfred Dreyfus in The Life of Emile Zola. After directing and appearing in many Broadway plays, EVA LeGALLIENNE (1890-1991) was nominated for the 1980 Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for her portrayal of Ellen Burstyn's Grandma Pearl in Resurrection. Lightly creased and soiled. Inside pages separated from cover at top staple. Otherwise, fine condition.
