Photograph of the television father and son from The Rockford Files (1974-1980) series. JAMES GARNER (b. 1928) starred as Bret Maverick in the first four seasons of the TV series Maverick (1957-1961) and a short-lived sequel (1981-1982). Garner also starred in The Rockford Files (1974-1980). Appearing frequently in films, he was nominated for a Best Actor Oscar for Murphy's Romance (1985). Roles in Space Cowboys (2000) and Divine Secrets of the Ya-Ya Sisterhood (2002) showed Garner going strong in the new millennium. In 1920, a seven-year-old NOAH BEERY, JR. (1913-1994, born in New York City) made his first screen appearance in Douglas Fairbanks' The Mark of Zorro (1920), which co-starred his dad Noah as Sergeant Garcia. Beery went on appear in over 120 films and TV shows, with his last acting credit on an episode of The Love Boat in 1986, seven decades after The Mark of Zorro. Often seen in Westerns and serials as the sidekick, he had a number of more notable performances in Of Mice and Men (1939), Only Angels Have Wings (1939), Sergeant York (1941), We've Never Been Licked (1943) and Red River (1948). Modern audiences probably know him best as Jim Rockford's father Joseph "Rocky" Rockford on The Rockford Files (1974-1980). Fine condition.
