THE ROLLING STONES: KEITH RICHARDS. Printed DS: "Keith Richards" in ink, 3½p, 8x11, separate sheets. California, 1989 February 15. Agreement between Keith Richards of The Rolling Stones and Dunhill Compact Classics. In part: "Certain master recordings exist embodying the performances of Richards along with the musical group known as The Dirty Strangers (the 'Masters')...Certain of the Masters have been embodied on a phonorecord album entitled 'The Dirty Strangers' (the 'Album')...Dunhill has engaged in or authorized the manufacture, distribution, promotion, packaging, sale and exploitation of the Album and in such activities has used or authorized the use of Richards' name and/or likeness on, among other things, packaging, artwork, promotional materials, press releases, and in advertisements pertaining to the Album...Richards advised Dunhill that Richards had not, and would not, consent to the use of his name and/or likeness as aforesaid. Further on February 3, 1989 (the 'Notice Date'), Richards demanded in writing that Dunhill cease such use of his name and/or likeness or risk litigation pertaining to such unauthorized use...." This agreement was signed to avoid a lawsuit. Eight lines on page 2 have been crossed out and initialed by Richards: "KR" and by a representative of Dunhill. The Rolling Stones (Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Brian Jones, Bill Wyman, Charlie Watts, and Ian Stewart) were formed in 1962. File holes at top edge, staple holes at upper left corner.
