SAN FRANCISCO GIANTS Giants cap signed by Juan Marichal, Matt Williams, Robby Thompson and Kirt Manwaring The pride of both the Dominican Republic and the Giants, JUAN MARICHAL won 243 games and lost only 142 over 16 marvelous seasons. The high-kicking right-hander enjoyed six 20-win seasons, hurled a no-hitter against Houston in 1963, and was named to nine All-Star teams. The "Dominican Dandy" twice led the National League in complete games and shutouts, finishing 244 contests during his career while fanning 2,303 and compiling a 2.89 ERA. He was elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1983. Slick fielding third baseman MATT WILLIAMS played 10 seasons in San Francisco, touched base in Cleveland in 1997, and finished up with 5 seasons with the Arizona Diamondbacks, retiring after the 2003 season. A 5-time All-Star, 4-time Gold Glove and 4-time Silver Slugger, Williams hit 20 or more home runs in every season of the 1990s. "The Carson Crusher" led the league in RBIs in 1990 and in home runs in 1994. ROBBY THOMPSON was the Opening Day second baseman for the Giants in all eleven of his Major League seasons (1986-1996). His best year was 1993, when he hit .312, with 19 home runs, while winning a Gold Glove and making the NL All-Star team. After coaching with the Giants and Indians, he joined the Cleveland front office in 2003. Catcher KIRT MANWARING played 9½ seasons with the Giants (1987-1996), spent the half a season in Houston, and then finished out his career with three years in Colorado. Manwaring earned a Gold Glove in 1993, when he led NL catchers in fielding average (.998). He threw out 47 base runners in 1992 and 51 the following year, half of those daring or foolish enough to test his arm. Fine condition. Previously authenticated by PSA/DNA.
