ST. LOUIS CARDINALS: 1969 Twenty-two team members, including four Hall of Famers, signed this baseball. Official Giles National League Baseball signed: "Red Schoendienst" (manager) and "Bob Gibson" on the sweet-spot, "Steve Carlton", "Lou Brock", "Jerry Reuss", "Bill White", "Tim McCarver", "Chuck Taylor", "Santiago Guzman", "Joe Hoerner", "Byron Browne", "Joe Torre", "Mike Shannon", "Joe Nossek", "Vada Pinson", "Geo Kissel" (coach), "Ray Washburn", "Dal Maxvill", "Mike Torrez", "Steve Huntz", "Phil Gagliano" and "Reg Cleveland". Among the signers are four members of baseball's Hall of Fame: manager RED SCHOENDIENST (a fine second baseman for the Cardinals in the 1950s and early 1960s), pitchers BOB GIBSON and STEVE CARLTON, and stolen base wizard/outfielder LOU BROCK. JOE TORRE, who played first base for the 1969 Cardinals, is a cinch to make the Hall as a manager. The 1969 St Louis Cardinals went 87-75, disappointing only in relation to their National League pennant in 1968 and World Championship in 1967. Many of the signers here, including the Hall members, were also on the 1967 and 1968 squads. Slightly soiled. Fine condition.
