Typed lyrics signed "Phil/Balsey", "Don Reid", both in blue ink, and "Jimmy Fortune" and "Harold/Reid", both in black ink. 1 page, 8½x11. Titled: "FLOWERS ON THE WALL/Words and music by Lewis DeWitt". With six stanzas from the Statler Brothers' 1965 hit Flowers on the Wall. These lyrics were signed sometime after 1982, when original band member Lew DeWitt was forced to leave the band as a result of Crohn's disease. He was replaced by Jimmy Fortune. THE STATLER BROTHERS signed with Columbia Records in 1964 and a year later scored a huge country and pop hit with Flowers on the Wall, written by Lew DeWitt. Flowers on the Wall earned them a Grammy Award, and they won another award for their 1972 single Class of '57. In all, they have 30 Top 10 hits on the Billboard Country and Pop Singles charts, including the chart-toppers Do You Know You Are My Sunshine (1978), Elizabeth (1983), My Only Love (1984) and Too Much on My Heart (1985).They performed on the road with Johnny Cash from 1963 to 1971 and recorded for Mercury Records from 1971 to 1995. Lightly toned and creased. Light nick at top left corner. Light dents at bottom left corner. Otherwise in fine condition.
