MARY WILSON Signed color publicity photograph the singer who helped found The Supremes Photograph signed: "Mary Wilson/ Supremes/ 2005" in blue felt tip, color, 10x8. Mary Wilson (b. 1944), one of the co-founders of the Motown group The Supremes (with Diana Ross and Flo Ballard), is the only member to have stayed with the group since its inception in 1961. Wilson, who still tours as the head of a group called The Supremes starring Mary Wilson, represented The Supremes when they were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1988 for their impressive career, during which they enjoyed 12 No. 1 hits including "Where Did Our Love Go?", "Baby Love", "Stop! In the Name of Love", and "Someday We'll Be Together". By 1970, Flo Ballard had left the group due to illness and Diana Ross struck out as a solo performer, but The Supremes did not officially disband until 1977. Since that time, Wilson has toured, recorded several solo albums and singles, lectured, and wrote two best-selling autobiographies: Dreamgirl: My Life as a Supreme (1986), and its sequel, Supreme Faith...Someday We'll be Together (1990). In addition, she has acted on the stage, her work including three off-Broadway productions, and appeared in the made-for-TV movie Jackie's Back (1999). Wilson is also known for her extensive charity work. Minor surface creases and smudges (most not evident head-on). Otherwise, fine condition.
