THE SWISS CONSPIRACY MOVIE CAST: DAVID JANSSEN and SENTA BERGER 9½x7 still from the movie, with promotional material printed in German on verso Photograph signed: "Best always/David Janssen" in silver ink and "Senta Berger" in blue felt tip, b/w, 9½x7. Movie still from The Swiss Conspiracy (1976). Promotional information printed in German on verso. DAVID JANSSEN (1931-1980), who began his film career in 1945 with It's A Pleasure, was best known for his roles on the small screen. In fact, the prolific Janssen had appeared in some 32 films before appearing on TV. He starred in Richard Diamond, Private Detective (1957-1960), The Fugitive (1963-1967), O'Hara - U.S. Treasury (1971-1972), and Harry O (1974-1976). Moreover, he was in over 30 made-for-TV films and appeared as a guest star on a number of TV series. Janssen won the 1966 Golden Globe for Best TV Star- Male for the role of Dr. Richard Kimble in The Fugitive. He died of a sudden heart attack in 1980 at the age of 48. Austrian-born actress SENTA BERGER (b. 1941) made several American films in the 1960s (The Poppy is Also a Flower, Cast a Giant Shadow, The Quiller Memorandum), and a few in later years (Cross of Iron, 1977), but she is much better known in Europe, where she has starred in many German and Italian films and - in recent years - German TV series. She has been married since 1966 to German director/producer Michael Verhoeven, and formed the production company Sentana with him. Since 2003, Berger has been President of the German Film Academy, and she has sat on many international film juries. Her 2006 autobiography sold briskly. Lightly worn. Otherwise, fine condition.
