One Day contract for the actor's appearance in The Thief Who Came to Dinner at the rate of $500.00 a day. MICHAEL MURPHY (b. 1938) is an American film and television actor, typically being cast as a unethical and morally corrupt authority figure in his 50 year career. Best known of his roles are Yale in Manhattan (1979), lawyer Alan Kingman in Magnolia (1999), and Jack Tanner in the HBO miniseries Tanner '88 (1988). On television, Murphy has made recurring appearances on Hard Copy (1987), Tilt (2005), and The Bridge (2010). NESSA HYAMS (b. 1941), the sister of actor Peter Hyams and the granddaughter of impresario Sol Hurok, has been casting director on many films since the early 1970s, including Summer of 42, and Blazing Saddles and The Exorcist. She has directed occasionally, mostly for television, and was producer on the film The Saint of Fort Washington (1993). Some areas of this document have been censored to protect signer identity.
