THE THRILL OF IT ALL MOVIE CAST: DORIS DAY and JAMES GARNER Shown hugging each other in a still from The Thrill of It All Printed photograph signed in ink: "Love/Doris Day", "James/Garner". B/w, 8x10. Captioned movie still from The Thrill of It All (1963). Known for her wholesome, "girl-next-door" good looks and sparkling personality, "America's Sweetheart" DORIS DAY (1922-2019) was one of the most popular and highest paid actresses by the early 1950s. After her would-be dancing career was sidelined by an accident, Day had turned to singing, first touring with bands and then introducing hit after hit in a string of romantic comedies. Nominated for an Academy Award for Pillow Talk (1959), she also brightened up the silver screen opposite such romantic leading men as Rock Hudson and Cary Grant. Her singing career was just as hot as her acting career, and her hit from the movie The Man Who Knew Too Much, "Que Sera, Sera", won an Oscar. In 1987, she established the Doris Day Animal League to lobby for humane treatment. JAMES GARNER (b. 1928) starred as Bret Maverick in the first four seasons of the TV series Maverick (1957-1961) and a short-lived sequel (1981-1982). Garner also starred as a private investigaor in The Rockford Files (1974-1980). Appearing frequently in films, he was nominated for a Best Actor Oscar for Murphy's Romance (1985). Roles in Space Cowboys (2000), Divine Secrets of the Ya-Ya Sisterhood (2002) and The Notebook (2004) showed Garner going strong in the new millennium. Creased. Lightly worn. Three filing holes at left edge. Otherwise, fine condition.
