The pilots sign this printed fact sheet about their famous around-the-world voyage in blue ink
Leaflet signed: "Jeana Yeager"and"Dick Rutan" in blue ink, 1p, 8½x11. Photocopied information about the Voyager's record-breaking flight and the Voyager pilots on sheet imprinted with Yeager's California address at lower left margin. The Voyager took off from Edwards Air Force Base, California on December 14, 1986. DICK RUTAN (b. 1938) and JEANA YEAGER (b. 1952), both holders of a number of distance, endurance, and speed flying records, founded Voyager Aircraft, Inc. to build a one-of-a-kind aircraft designed to fly around the world non-stop without refueling, which was one of the last great records in atmospheric flight remaining to be broken. Their experimental aircraft, Voyager, made this record flight in nine days (December 14-23, 1986), perhaps the most exciting aviation event of the decade. Voyager is also considered a great achievement of American private enterprise, being the dream of a few pioneer aviators, and the volunteers and supporters they attracted from all over the world. One of the flying duo's many honors includes the Presidential Citizens Medal (1986). Moreover, Rutan made a strong showing (44%) in an unsuccessful Congressional bid against a 15-term Democratic incumbent (1992). Some text is faint, but it remains legible. Lightly creased. Nicked at blank edges. Otherwise, fine condition.
