PETER TOWNSHEND
Index card signed by The Who's Pete Townshend in red ink
Signature: "Pete Townshend" in red ink. Pencil notations on verso in
unknown hand. 5x3 ruled index card. Formed in 1964 and disbanded in 1983, but
with several reunion tours thereafter, The Who was one of the premier rock
groups of the "British invasion." British guitarist Townshend, born
in 1945, was also a fine songwriter, whose hits included The Kids Are
Alright and My Generation. He did most of the writing for The
Who's "rock opera" Tommy (1973). When Tommy appeared on
Broadway 20 years later, it earned Townshend both a Tony and a Grammy.
Lightly toned, otherwise in fine condition.
