Campbell starred as auto racer Joe Machin in the 1963 film, The Young Racers, which also featured Luana Anders. William Campbell, born in 1926, made his film debut in 1947 in Hi-De-Ho. Over his long career, Campbell appeared in feature films, including The High and the Mighty (1954), Battle Cry (1955), Love Me Tender (1956), The Naked and the Dead (1958) and Hush...Hush, Sweet Charlotte (1965), and a long list of television shows and series, including Star Trek, Gunsmoke and Bonanza.n Luana Anders (1938 -1996) was an American film and television actress. Probably her best known performances were as Vincent Price's sister in Corman's The Pit and the Pendulum (1961) and as a murder victim in Francis Ford Coppola's Dementia 13 (1963). She also appeared in Curtis Harrington's cult film Night Tide (1961) opposite Dennis Hopper. Hopper would later cast her as one of the hippie commune girls who go skinny dipping with Peter Fonda and Dennis Hopper in Easy Rider (1969) and she later worked with Jack Nicholson in The Missouri Breaks (1978).
