An album leaf containing 9 signatures, including Thea King, Susan Bradshaw, and Neil Black
Signatures: "Neil Black", "Susan Bradshaw", "Thea King" "Paul Cropper", 5¼x3¾. These signers merit further research: "Roger Birusting", "Ronald Harris", "Best Wishes/Bonny Brighth", "John Harrington", "Charles Murt".THEA KING (1925-2007) was a British clarinetist and pianist, graduating from the Royal College of Music. She performed as the principal clarinet for the English Chamber Orchestra from 1964 to 1999, and also has performed with the Sadler's Wells Opera Orchestra, Melos Ensemble, and Allegri String Quartet. King also taught clarinet at the Royal College of Music and the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, and acted as a fellow of both institutions. In 1985, King was made an OBE and in 2001 was appointed a DBE. SUSAN BRADSHAW (1981-2005) was a British pianist, teacher, and writer best known for her involvement with the "Piotr Zak" hoax of 1961. Studying at the Royal Academy of Music, Bradshaw performed mostly contemporary music and contributed as a critic for several music magazines. The "Piotr Zak" hoax, which broadcasted the work of a fictional Polish composer on BBC radio, was concocted by Bradshaw and Hans Keller during their time at BBC. Sometimes thought to be an imitation of "modern music", the work was actually used to receive praise for contemporary music; alas, it was not well received, and worked against Bradshaw's favor. NEIL BLACK (b. 1932), an English oboist, was the principal oboe for the London Philharmonic Orchestra, the Academy of St Martin in the Fields, the English Chamber Orchestra, the London Mozart Players. Black mostly specializes in Baroque and pre-classical music, and has taught at both the Royal Academy of Music and the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. In 1989, Black was appointed an OBE. PAUL CROPPER (b. 1913) is a viola player, and has taught a number of notable English musicians. Right edge frayed. Light surface creases. Slightly soiled. Edges and corners slightly worn. Otherwise, fine condition.
