3½x2¼. Theodore Fitz Randolph (1826-1883) was an American Democratic
Party politician, who served as the 22nd Governor of New Jersey from 1869 to
1872, and represented the state in the United States Senate for a single
term, from 1875 to 1881. He was chairman of the Committee on Military
Affairs in the Forty-sixth United States Congress. Randolph invented a stitching
machine and a steam typewriter. Toned. Very thin signature. Mounting residue and
pencil note (unknown hand) on verso. Otherwise, fine
condition.
