Children of Earth (1915) and Rio Grande (1916), but found
more success as a film actor, appearing in over 200 film roles in his 35
years. Early in his career, Von Eltz was utilized as a handsome lover in
films like The Speed Girl (1921) and Fourteenth Lover
(1922). Once sound films began to rise in popularity, the actor was cast
often as a villain, remembered in films like Bright Eyes (1934) and
Red-Haired Alibi (1932). By the 1950's, Von Eltz has switched to
television, but only appeared on series shortly before retiring from acting in
1957. R.E.S. "BOB" WYATT (1901-1995) was an English cricket player,
playing for Warwickshire, Worcestershire, and the English cricket team. He
made his first-class cricket debut in 1923, but did not make his Test debut
until 1927. In 1930, he was named Wisden Cricketer of the Year. His
career was marked by several injuries, most famously breaking his jaw in four
places after being hit during a match in Jamaica. English cricketer Ken
Farnes (1911-1941) made his first class debut in 1930 at 19 years
old, playing throughout the 1930's for Essex and Gentlemen, among others. He
was named Wisden cricketer of the year in 1939, leaving cricket soon
after to enlist in the Royal Air Force in World War II. He perished in an
airplane crash in 1941 during a night-flying exercise. Light surface creases.
