THOMAS A. EDISON.Autograph Note signed: "Return to Hardy/E" in pencil, 1p, 8½x11. No place, 1926 July 20. Beneath a TLS of William A. Hardy, signed: "W.A.H.", to Edision. In full: "In accordance with your request, I have obtained and am sending you herewith copies of U. S. patents which have issued during the last five years relating to the electric-plating of iron." Penciled note at top in unknown hand: "Put on Desk". Two ¼-inch tears and light paperclip stain at top edge. Slightly frayed at right edge. Otherwise, fine condition. This was probably instruction to the person who hand-delivered it to Edison with the copies of patents. Edison crossed out the words "Put on Desk" when he wrote his note, returning the copies. Accompanied by two unsigned typed one-page documents and a printed U.S. Patent Office patent, each concerning a 12-page 1910 patent entitled "Electrical Element" granted to Axel Theodor Konstantin Estelle and Karl Wilhelm Hendrok Evers. William A. Hardy was most probably one of Edison's patent attorneys. Four items.
