The inventor of the electric valve approves the installation of a wet and dry pipe system of fire extinguishing equipment in his property in West Orange, N.J.

Headed: "Minutes of a Meeting of the Board of Directors of Edison Storage Battery Company", signed by the Chairman, Charles Edison, Secretary, J.W. Robinson, and the four Directors. The Board of Directors unanimously approved a resolution which resulted in the U.S. Construction Company leasing to and installing "in the property of Thomas A. Edison, Inc., Edison Phonograph Works, Edison Storage Battery Company and Thomas A. Edison, located in and about Lakeside Avenue and Valley Road, West Orange, N.J., a wet and dry pipe system of approved fire extinguishing apparatus" with the option of buying the system anytime after March 1, 1926 for $5,000. In addition to the electric valve, which enables the controlled flow of water in a pipe, Edison's other inventions include the incandescent electric lamp, phonograph, mimeograph, kinetoscope and alkaline storage battery. The inventor's son, CHARLES EDISON, Chairman of the Board of Directors, was FDR's Secretary of the Navy (1939-1940) and Governor of New Jersey (1941-1944).
