THOMAS A. EDISON. Typed DS: "Thos A Edison," 2p, 8¼x11, front and verso. West Orange, N.J.,1920 October 18. Original "minutes of a meeting of the board of directors of/edison phonograph works" held at his West Orange offices. Edison had always said that his favorite invention was the phonograph. Also signed by his son: "Charles Edison," "Stephen B. Mambert," and "H.F. Miller" as Directors, "Chas. W. Luhr" as Vice President & Works Manager, and "H.H. Eckert" as Secretary. In part: "Mr. C.W. Luhr, Vice President & Works Manager stated that it seemed expedient to close out the Assembly Plant located at the Pullman Works, Pullman, Ill...." Authorization was passed, in part, "to sell to Thomas A. Edison, Inc. all phonographs completed by Edison Phonograph Works at its Western Assembly Department from October 18th to November 15th inclusive at prices and upon the terms set forth in the agreement" and "selling to Thomas A. Edison, Inc. one Ford automobile, Manufacturer's No. 3567834, located in Cook County, Ill. at a price of $300.00...." Pages are numbered 167 and 168. Fine condition.
