6¼x3½. Lawyer and economist Thomas Knight Finletter (1893-1980) became an
advisor to Secretary of State Cordell Hull on international economic
policy in 1941, later serving as Deputy Director of the Office of Foreign
Economic Cooperation through 1944. He assisted in drafting the UN Charter.
Returning to government in the Truman administration, he headed the Finletter
Commission (1947-1948) on national air policy, and served as Secretary of
the Air Force (1950-1953). President Kennedy appointed him US Ambassador
to NATO (1961-1965). Toned. Corners rounded. Adhesive residue on left margin
and on verso. Otherwise, fine condition.
