Stamps Signed: "Thomas Mann", 1¾x1. Signature in blue ink across two un-separated Swedish 20-kronor stamps honoring Alfred Nobel. The stamps are un-mailed. Thomas Mann (1875-1955), a German author and essayist won the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1929. His best known works include Buddenbrooks (1901), Death in Venice (1912) and The Magic Mountain (1924). Mann, who would die in Zürich in 1955, first moved to Switzerland in 1933. He became an American citizen in 1940, living in Santa Monica, California from 1941-1953. Fine condition.
