Handwritten, signed letter from the author on the verso of a picture
post card, saying he has been meaning to send the card, but is only now getting
to it. Extremely rare!
Autograph letter signed: "Thomas S. Jones, Jr.", in black ink,
3½x5½. Circa 1916. In full: "It is with great happiness that I am
sending you this card of a place, [illegible], Con, and I have
asked my [illegible], from time to time, to send you this card.
Yours". Illegible post script on left margin. A graduate from Cornell
University, Thomas S. Jones, Jr. (1882-1932) primarily wrote as a poet,
publishing volumes of poetry in the early 1900's. His works include Path
of Dreams (1904), Interludes (1908), and The Voice in the
Silence (1911). Jones also published works in the New York
Times and was an associate editor of The Pathfinder.
Corners lightly worn and creased, with heavier crease on top right. Soiled
across. Toned. Ink stamps. Faint stains. Small tear to top right edge.
