Moe Howard writes to a fan about her health and to thank her for her
continued support.
ALS: "Moe", 1p, 6x8½. No place, no date. On Three Stooges
cartoon stationery. To Linda. In full: "Trust that you are enjoying
excellent health; after a tough trip to New York, am now recovering from a siege
with the Flu. Thank you so very much for all your charming and encouraging
letters. It is always a delight to receive them: Hercules got off to a great
start and we are now preparing for "The 3 Stooges Meet The Martians". The story
works exceptionally good. There just aren't enough hours in the day to take care
of all that is to be done. While I am recuperating I am taking care of
approximately 700 of the most important fan letters. The others are not too
difficult, but with you we have to be specially careful, because you are
special. Forgive the shortness please. The boys join with me in all the best
to you. Sincerely." In 1925, Ted Healy organized The Three Stooges comedy
team with brothers MOE HOWARD and Shemp Howard and Larry Fine. In 1932,
Shemp left the act and was replaced by brother Jerry (Curly) Howard. Curly had a
stroke in 1946 and Shemp returned to the Stooges. Shemp died in 1955. Fold
crease not near signature. Fine condition.
