Catcher Tim McCarver (1941-2023) played in the Major Leagues during four decades

with the Philadelphia Phillies. In 1966 he became the only catcher ever to lead the lead in

a hitting monster for the Cardinals over three World Series: .364 batting average, .500 on

Sox in 1967, before losing a 7-game Series to the Tigers in 1968). As a Phillie, McCarver
played on the Division-winning teams of 1976-1978. A longtime broadcaster, McCarver
holds the TV record as analyst of 16 World Series through 2011. Minor surface damages.
