Actress sends update to friend John Willis, editor of Theatre World,
about her next move
Autograph note signed: "Chen Hsen Huang" in blue ink. 2 page,
10x7 flat, 5x7 folded. December 1973. In full: "Mr. John Willis, I am
having very good time in York College now, and I grasp my hope to go to a med
school. I hope that you also are having the best time". Actress and producer
Tina Chen acted prolifically on television in series such as CBS
Playhouse (1967), The Streets of San Francisco (1976),
Airwolf (1984) and Mercy (2009), as well as in
movies including Alice's Restaurant (1969), The
Hawaiians (1970), The Ghost of Flight 401 (1978) and
Three Days of the Condor (1975). Chen performed on Broadway in the
production of The Love Suicide at Schofield Barracks (1972), and
was a producer on Broadway as well in Passion (1983) and The

World from the beginning, became its chief editor in 1965, holding that
position until 2008. Willis is regarded as one of the foremost theatre and
film historians of the 20th century. While producing (and presenting) the annual
Theatre World Awards, Willis also served on the nominating committee for the
Tony Awards. Theatre World, which received its own Tony for
Excellence in Theatre in 2001, continues under chief editor Ben Hodges.
