TOM CONTI
The Tony Award-winning Scottish actor penned his signature on this black and white 4x6 photograph
Photograph signed: "Algebra can be/ defined thus:/ To cut a long/ story short/ Tom Conti". B/w, 4x6. Actual image 4x5 with a white border along the bottom (one surface). Tom Conti (b. 1941) trained as a classical pianist, but eventually became one of the most prestigious Scottish actors ever. He's one of just a handful of Scottish actors to earn an Academy Award nomination: he was nominated for Best Actor for the 1983 film Reuben, Reuben. Conti's other screen credits include Shirley Valentine (1989), Merry Christmas, Mr. Lawrence (1983), and the television show Adam Smith (1972). More recently, Conti had a small part in the blockbuster film The Dark Knight Rises (2012). Despite his many credits in screen productions, he prefers the theater. Conti first started working on the stage in 1959 and made his Broadway debut in 1979, earning a Tony Award for his portrayal of Ken Harrison in Whose Life Is It Anyway? that year. Fine condition.
