Edwin Jarriel (1934-2024) joined ABC in Atlanta (1965) after first working at Houston's
KPRC-TV and received his first national recognition while covering Martin Luther King
Jr. the night he was assassinated (1968). Jarriel was ABC's White House correspondent
covering Nixon and then Ford but was replaced when Carter took office in 1977. In 1978 he
became senior correspondent for ABC's World News Tonight and in 1979 joined the 20/20
program as an investigative reporter. Over the years, Jarriel won 10 Emmy Awards. At
this time, he still occasionally contributes to ABC News broadcasts. Fine condition.
