Television and film actor Tom Skerritt (born in 1933), who made his film debut
at age 19 in 1962's War Hunt, is perhaps best known for his role as
Sherriff Jimmy Brock on Picket Fences, for which he won a 1994 Emmy
Award. The leading man and character actor also gave acclaimed
performances in the feature films MASH (1970), The Turning
Point (1977), Alien (1979), Top Gun (1986), Steel
Magnolias (1989) and A River Runs Through It (1992, directed by his
War Hunt co-star, Robert Redford). Skerritt, who had a recurring role
on one season of Cheers (1987-1988), has appeared in a number of
made-for-TV movies and series, including The West Wing (2003), Will
& Grace (2002), The Twilight Zone (1986), Bonanza (1973,
1964), Gunsmoke (1972, 1970, 1966, 1965), The Virginian (1971,
1968, 1965, 1962), Mannix (1967) and Combat (1967, 1966, 1965,
1962). Fine condition.
