Document signed"Tommy Sands", with contract signed and initialed by representatives of Grace Music Company and Roncom Productions, Inc. 1 page, 8½x11, carbon copy, with 11 single-sided pages of contract and rider. Aug. 9, 1960. Addressed to Roncom Production, Inc., New York City. Sands signed this document to certify that he had read the enclosed contract. According to this contract, Sands was to appear on Perry Como's Kraft Music Hall as a guest star for $7,500. His performance was to be taped on Nov. 18 and broadcast on Nov. 23. Sands, born in Chicago, Illinois in 1937, is an American singer and actor. He learned to play guitar at seven and within a year was performing twice weekly on a Shreveport, Louisiana radio station. Colonel Tom Parker signed him to RCA Records and, in 1957, starred in an episode of Kraft Television Theatre as a singer similar to Elvis Presley. He played Teenage Crush on the show, which was turned into a single and peaked at No. 3 on the charts. He also acted in several movies, including Sing, Boy, Sing (1958), Babes in Toyland (1961), The Longest Day (1962) and Ensign Pulver (1964). Lightly toned and creased. Carbon copy and photocopy marks. Rider has ragged bottom edge. Staple holes in top left corner. Otherwise in fine condition.
