Multitalented dancer, singer, actor, choreographer and director Tune (born Thomas James Tune in Wichita Falls, Texas in 1939) has been awarded a record nine Tony Awards: Best Supporting or Featured Actor (Musical) for Seesaw (1974); Best Choreographer (with Thommie Walsh) for A Day in Hollywood/A Night in the Ukraine (1980); Best Director (Musical) for Nine (1982); Best Actor (Musical) and Best Choreographer (also with Walsh) for My One and Only (1983); Best Director (Musical) and Best Choreographer for Grand Hotel, the Musical (1990); and, Best Director (Musical) and Best Choreographer for The Will Rogers Follies (1991). Tune, who is six-feet, six-and-a-half inches tall, is one of the tallest dancers on Broadway, but drama critic John Simon praised Tune as being "as long on talent as on legs". In addition to appearing on Broadway, Tune has toured extensively, including a stint in his one-man show, Tommy Tune Tonight!, and he has appeared in two feature films, Hello, Dolly! (1969) and The Boy Friend (1971). Tune, who also starred in the Las Vegas extravaganza EFX (1999), published his autobiography, Footnotes, in 1997. Lightly toned and bowed. Edges and corners are irregular. Otherwise in fine condition.
