TOMORROW NEVER DIES: PIERCE BROSNAN and DESMOND LLEWELYN
James Bond looks on as Q shows him a new gadget in this still from the 1997 film
Photograph signed: "Pierce Brosnan" in black felt tip and "Desmond Llewelyn" in blue felt tip, color, 8x10. The 18th film in the James Bond canon (1997) was the second of four featuring Pierce Brosnan in the title role and the next to last appearance for Desmond Llewelyn as gadget master Q. Llewelyn (1914-1999) died in a car crash shortly after filming the 19th Bond, The World is Not Enough (1999). Brosnan, considered by many the most successful Bond since Sean Connery, almost earned the part after the departure of Roger Moore in 1986, but his contractual commitment to his TV contract as Remington Steele, another cool, wise-cracking agent, prevented him from taking the role until a decade later. After playing television detective Remington Steele (1982-1987), he moved easily into the role of James Bond with Golden Eye (1995). Brosnan was the fifth actor to portray 007. He followed it up with three more Bond films: Tomorrow Never Dies (1997), The World is Not Enough (1999) and Die Another Day (2002) before being replaced. Brosnan has played dapper con men such as in The Tailor of Panama (2001) as well as the straight man in comedies like Mrs. Doubtfire (1993). In a role a little outside of his comfort zone, he sang in a few musical numbers in the hit musical film Mamma Mia! (2008). Fine condition.
