Program signed: "Tony Bennett", 8½x11, 18 pages. Schedule of daily events for the Atlantic City amusement pier, September 27- October 4, 1953, signed on the front cover. Bennett, born Anthony Dominick Benedetto in 1926, has been a successful singer of popular standards for more than half a century. His first no. 1 hit, Because of You, came in 1951. Bennett has earned nine Grammy Awards, the first for what has become his signature song, I Left My Heart in San Francisco (1962). His most recent, at least as of this biography, were in 2006 for his album Duets: An American Classic and a collaboration with Stevie Wonder on the song For Once in My Life. Steel Pier in Atlantic City, an amusement park with circus and general entertainment events, first opened in 1898. Under George Hamid, who led the Pier from 1925, it featured many top entertainers. Steel Pier closed in 1976, but a refurbished Steel Pier under Donald Trump's ownership resumed operations in 1993. Left edge lightly creased. Bottom right corner creased. Fine condition.
