Tony Tanti (b. 1963) is a retired NHL left winger, who played eleven
seasons with the Chicago Blackhawks (1981-1983), the Vancouver Canucks
(1982-1990), the Pittsburgh Penguins (1989-1991) and the Buffalo
Sabres (1990-1992). Chosen 12th overall in the 1981 NHL Entry Draft, Tanti
had a spectacular OHL career where he played 87 games for the Oshawa
Generals (1981-1983) and earned 96 goals, with 92 assists and 173
penalty minutes. Scoring 81 goals in his rookie year alone he smashed Wayne
Gretzky's previous record of 70. With Vancouver, he scored 250 goals and
470 points; he earned the Cyrus H. McLean Trophy in 1987 as the team's
leading scorer, and the Cyclone Taylor Trophy as team MVP the following year.
Tanti is considered to be the Canucks' first true sniper player. Corners rounded
and creased. Ink note (unknown hand) on verso. Otherwise, fine
