TRAPEZE MOVIE CAST: TONY CURTIS, GINA LOLLOBRIGIDA
The stars of Trapeze sign a black and white still from the 1956 film.
Photograph signed: "Tony Curtis", "& love/Gina Lollobrigida". B/w, 10x8. Still from the 1956 film, Trapeze. Captioned in lower margin. Originally cast mainly for his good looks, Tony Curtis (1925-2010) showed real acting talent in such films as The Defiant Ones (1958, for which he received an Oscar nomintion), Some Like It Hot (1959) and - cast against type - in The Boston Strangler (1968). Later in his career, he preferred to play comic roles. Formerly married to actress Janet Leigh, he is the father of actress Jamie Leigh Curtis. Sensual, voluptuous actress Gina Lollobrigida, born Luigina Lollobrigida in Subiaco, Abruzzan, Italy in 1927, was a sex symbol in her native Italy before becoming a Hollywood star. A contract dispute with Howard Hughes prevented her for several years from appearing in Hollywood films. She finally made her Hollywood debut in 1956, soon becoming very popular with American audiences. For years, her name was synonymous with beauty and glamour. Creased and toned. Tears at right edge. Corners worn. Ink note (unknown hand) on verso. Otherwise, fine condition.
