TREAT WILLIAMS
Treat Williams sends an autograph letter to a couple celebrating
their Golden Anniversary.
Autograph Letter Signed: "Treat Williams", 1p, 7¼x10½. On his
personal letterhead to "Sally and Carl". In full: "I am very
touched to be asked for a photograph of myself for the occasion of your golden
wedding anniversary. I was recently married myself and I'm a strong believer in
the institution myself so it makes me happy to know that long term commitments
still are still possible. God bless you both and many happy
years to come." Treat Williams got his breakthrough when his stage work
in Grease resulted in him being signed for the film version of
Hair (1979), for which he received a New Star of the Year Golden Globe
nomination. He has appeared in a number of feature films, including
1941 (1979), Prince of the City (1981, Golden Globe nomination for
Best Actor), Once Upon a Time in America (1984) and Flashpoint
(1984), and the acclaimed television dramas, Dempsey (1983) and A
Street Car Named Desire (1984, Golden Globe nomination for Best Actor). In
2002, Williams received a Screen Actors Guild nomination for Best Actor for his
role as Dr. Andrew Brown in the TV series, Everwood. Williams
evidently continued to believe in the intuition of marriage, as he says in this
letter -- he brought his wife and children to Utah to be close to them while
filming the series. Lightly creased. Fine condition.
