the popular television series created by Rod Serling, and perhaps best known for the accidental
death of actor Vic Morrow and two Vietnamese children during production, the film tells
four separate stories, each by a different director. This photograph is from the segment
directed by Joe Dante, ©1983, Warner Bros. Titled It's a Good Life, the story was based
on a 1954 short story by Jerome Bixby, which had inspired a previous Rod Serling
screenplay. The segment depicted a family caught in a trap by a young boy who possesses
special powers. The film's moderate success led to a television revival of the original series. In
1965, the Science Fiction Writers of America voted Bixby's short story among the top 25 SF
short stories of all time. KEVIN McCARTHY (1914-2010) and WILLIAM SCHALLERT
also appeared in the original 1959-1964 Twilight Zone series. Fine condition.
