UNLIKELY HEROES PLAY CAST: LOU JACOBI, DAVID ACKROYD, DORI BRENNER, GEORGE BARTENIEFF, ANNA BERGER, and JON KORKES
Six actors from the 1971 production sign on the cast page
Show Bill signed: "Lou Jacobi", Dori Brenner", "David Ackroyd", "George Bartenieff", "Jon/Korkes", "Anna Berger", 48 pages, 6x9. Six signers in all. Showbill for the premiere of Unlikely Heroes: Three Phillip Roth Stories at New York's Plymouth Theatre, October-November, 1971. This collection of one-act plays by Phillip Roth included Defender of the Faith (featuring Ackroyd, Bartenieff, Brenner and Korkes), Epstein (with performances by Berger, Brenner, Jacobi and Korkes) and Eli, the Fanatic (with Bartenieff, Brenner and Jacobi). It ran for 23 performances. In the New York Times, Clive Barnes called the plays "a little wordy" but describes the acting as "smooth as kosher butter." He lauded in particular Lou Jacobi's performance in the title role of Epstein. The extensive film and TV credits of these talented actors are listed below. Lightly toned. Corners lightly creased. Otherwise, fine condition.
