American actress. Hagen is primarily known as a stage actress. She had 20
Broadway appearances between 1938 and 1987 - most of them before 1955 - and has
garnered two Tony Awards for Best Actress for her roles in The Country
Girl (1950-1951) and Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf? (1963-1964). She
also premiered on TV in 1945, but the Hollywood blacklist delayed her film debut
