SAMMY HAGAR
Signed black and white publicity photograph of the rock n' roll frontman, shown in boxing gear in a corner of the ring
Printed photograph signed in ink: "Sammy Hagar", in black ink, B/w 8x10. Inscribed in unknown hand. When Van Halen band debuted in 1978, its influence on other hard rock/heavy metal groups was immediate. SAMMY HAGAR (b. 1947) replaced former lead singer David Lee Roth in 1985 without much affecting the group's popularity, with Eddie Van Halen on lead guitar, brother Alex Van Halen on drums, and Michael Anthony as bassist. Of the band's many #1 hits, "Jump" (1984) is probably the best known. Its 1991 album, For Unlawful Carnal Knowledge, won a Grammy as Best Hard Rock with Vocal. Hagar left Van Halen in 1996, only briefly returning once for a reunion tour, though he was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2007 as a member of Van Halen. In recent years, Hagar continues to perform as a solo artist, and has found success with his line of restaurants and Cabo Wabo tequila. Corners slightly worn. Signature in poor contrast, visible in light. Fine condition.
