The philanthropist and wife of conductor Isaac Stern signed this typed letter in blue ink
Typed Letter Signed: “Vera” in blue ink on a 6 ¼ x 8 ¼ sheet of paper. Dated June 20, 1961. Sent to Naomi Huber. Features Isaac Stern letterhead. In full: “Isaac just got back, read the letter, and here it is. Did you get the picture in good shape? It was nice to see you again, if only briefly. Until next time”. Vera Stern (1927-2015) was a tireless advocate for various causes and charities. Most notably, she was one of the prominent figures that prevented the demolishing of Carnegie Hall in 1960. While her more famous husband Isaac Stern was the face of the movement, she did a lot of the work behind the scenes. In recognition of her dedication to Carnegie Hall, Box 44 has her name. Mailing crease. Otherwise, fine condition.
