Photograph signed: "Yours Faithfully/Vesta Victoria". Sepia,
3x4½, affixed to a 3¼x5 piece of cardboard (2 surfaces). 1951. English music
hall star Vesta Victoria (1873-1952) had her first popular song,
"Daddy Wouldn't Buy Me a Bow Wow", in 1892. The singer and comedian toured
England and America through World War I, retiring thereafter but re-recording
some of her hits in 1931 and returning for a few film appearances in the 1950s.
Ink note reading: 1951 (unknown hand) at bottom right. Lightly soiled. Lightly
creased. Otherwise, fine condition.
