(1936-2023) played 16 Major League seasons between 1963 and 1980, interrupted by a
period in the Mexican League. He won a Gold Glove in 1964 and made the All-Star team
in 1965. Playing for the LA Dodgers in his last four seasons, he was the oldest active
player in the Majors, used mainly as a very successful pinch hitter. He hit .312 for the
Dodgers in both the 1977 and 1978 seasons, years the team not coincidentally won the
pennant. He continued to play pro ball in his native Venezuela until age 50. Davalillo played in
World Series for the Pirates (1971), A's (1974) and Dodgers (1978). Fine condition.
