Typed Letter Signed: "Al" as Vice President, 1p, 7x9. The Vice President, Washington, 1999 January 5. In full: "Dear Pat: Thank you for sending me an inscribed copy of Secrecy. It was very kind of you to think of me. I look forward to having the opportunity to read your book in its entirety. Thanks again, and best wishes in this New Year." In a handwritten postscript: "Thanks/Best to Liz./Hope to arrange/a mutually convenient/meeting time soon." Gore, the son of former U.S. Senator Albert Gore, Sr., served as U.S. Congressman from Tennessee from 1977-1985. Gore was later U.S. Senator (1985-1993) and Clinton's Vice President (1993-2001) and lost to George W. Bush in the 2000 presidential election. DIRECTLY FROM THE SALE OF THE ESTATE OF DANIEL PATRICK MOYNIHAN. ELIZABETH "LIZ" BRENNAN and DANIEL PATRICK MOYNIHAN were married in 1955. Moynihan's book, Secrecy: The American Experience, was published in December 1998. Moynihan had served as Vice Chairman of the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence.
