DICK CHENEY
"Desert Storm" trading card, signed by Cheney on a picture of himself seated next to President George Bush
Trading Card signed: "Dick Cheney". Color 2½x3½. Pro Set trading card #111 in the Desert Storm series. Front of card bears a reproduced photo of Cheney as Secretary of Defense, seated next to President George Bush at a meeting. Printed on verso is a concise explanation of the role of the President's Cabinet. Richard "Dick" Cheney (b. 1941) was White House Chief of Staff under President Ford (1974-1977), a member of Congress from Wyoming (1979-1989, rising to the position of Minority Whip), Secretary of Defense under President George Bush (1989-1993). He was CEO of the Halliburton Corporation (1995-2000) before being elected and re-elected Vice President as the running mate of President George W. Bush (2001-2009). President Bush writes in his new memoir that he considered dropping Cheney from the ticket in 2004 because of the Vice President's "Darth Vader image," but decided Cheney was just too valuable to his administration. Cheney played a key role in the first Bush administration's planning to liberate Kuwait in Operation Desert Storm, and a key role again in President George W. Bush's "Operation Iraqi Freedom." Fine condition.
