politician, businessman and philanthropist Nelson Aldrich Rockefeller
(1908-1979) was Governor of New York from 1959-1973, when he resigned to
begin his quest for the 1976 Republican presidential nomination. When President
Nixon resigned and Vice President Ford succeeded to the presidency in 1974,
Rockefeller was chosen by President Ford to be Vice President of the U.S.
under the provisions of the 25th Amendment. Rockefeller, who did not seek the
nomination in 1976, served as VP from 1974-1977. Slightly creased at blank
areas. Fine condition.
