"Inaugural/1973/Reception for the Vice President and Mrs. Agnew/Museum of
History and Technology/Smithsonian Institution/Thursday, January Eighteenth/Six
until Seven/Admit One/Please Present this Card/Not Transferable/676". In the 1972 election, President Nixon and Vice President Agnew
were reelected in one of the greatest landslides in U.S. history. Within 18½
months of their second inauguration, both resigned in disgrace. On October 10,
1973, Vice President Agnew resigned and pleaded no contest to charges of income
tax evasion. On August 9, 1974, Nixon resigned in order to avoid impeachment.
Light spotting at upper right blank margin just touches end of the "w" in Agnew,
else in fine condition.
