The Academy Award winning actor retains Beyer (himself a former
actor) as his exclusive agent for the radio broadcast industry.

Standard AFRA (American Federation of Radio Artists) Exclusive Agency
Contract in which McLaglen retains Beyer as his exclusive agent for the radio
broadcast industry. The contract lasts for the period of one year, beginning on
May 29, 1942. Beyer will receive a ten percent fee for his services. Victor
McLaglen (1886-1959) starred in the 1936 20th Century Fox film
Professional Soldier as adventurer Michael Donovan, who is hired by a
political group in a fictitious European kingdom to kidnap the young prince so
they could take over the government. McLaglen won the 1935 Academy Award for
Best Actor for The Informer. Charles
Beyer (1893-1953) played supporting roles in numerous films between 1916 and
1929. His films include The Man Who Paid (1922), Weekend Husbands
(1924), The Unguarded Hour (1925), Cabaret (1927), Taxi 13
(1928), Side Street (1929) and The Delightful Rogue (1929). Later
in his acting career, he went by the screen name Charles Byer. He was also a
famous agent, working with such film stars as W. C. Fields, May Robson
and Victor MacLaglen. Fine condition.
