In full: "Veteran vaudeville comedian with hesitant, bumbling manner, in films occasionally from 1915. A favorite on Broadway in musical comedies for many years." Ink notes (unknown hand) on verso: "Victor Moore April 18, 1953/'On Borrowed Time' 48th St. Theatre". Moore appeared as Julian Northrup ("Gramps") in On Borrowed Time from February 10, 1953-April 18, 1953. He signed this autograph on the last day of the play's Broadway run. Vaudeville and legitimate stage performer Victor Moore (1876-1962) first appeared in silent films in 1915. He excelled in character roles in the 1930s and 1940s, typically portraying bumbling, helpless little men, such as the Vice President in Gershwin's 1932 Pulitzer Prize-winning musical, Of Thee I Sing. Slightly creased at blank corners. Slightly soiled on front and verso. Overall, fine condition.
