VIKKI CARR
She sends a letter regarding producer Steve Binder and new songs
Typed Letter signed: "Vikki", 1p, 7¼x10½. Beverly Hills, California, 1974 May 17. On personal letterhead to James Cohen, Los Angeles, California. In full: "Pursuant to previous conversations regarding possible new songs for a publishing company, on May 6th I spoke with Steve Binder about a new songwriter who had done a couple of songs I was interested in. I asked him to have a demo made up for when I returned from Denver on the 17th. Have a feeling Steve Binder is representing the girl who did the songs. If so, negotiating will have to be done by you or Andy Maree. Regards." VIKKI CARR's (b.1941) popularity in the U.S. peaked with her Top Forty hits of the late 1960s, including "It Must Be Him" and "Color Me Blue". Beginning in the 1980s, however, her Spanish language songs became highly popular. Carr received a Grammy for Best Latin Pop Album, Cosas del Amor, in 1991. STEVE BINDER is an American producer and director who has worked with some of music's biggest stars including Patti LaBelle, Wayne Newton, Liza Minnelli and the King of Rock and Roll, Elvis Presley. Lightly creased. Staple and file holes at top edge. Date stamp in lower right. Otherwise, fine condition.
