Captioned: "Vince Hill/Columbia Records". Hill, born in Coventry,
England in 1937, was a heartthrob singer in the United Kingdom in the 1960s. His
hits include a cover of Edelweiss from The Sound of Music,
which peaked just short of No. 1 on the UK charts in 1967, as well as
Take Me to Your Heart Again (1966), Merci Cherie (1966) and
Look Around and You'll Find Me (1971), written for the movie Love
Story. He singing professionally in a local pub when he was 15 and
decided to make it a career after he was called up for his National Service
military duty. He sang with the Royal Corps of Signals and, after returning to
civilian life, with Teddy Foster's big band. Hill switched to pop when he joined
the Raindrops in 1960, but didn't score his first success until after leaving
the group in 1962. His popularity peaked in the 1960s, but he remained popular
on British TV and continued to perform. Lightly toned and creased. Folded once
and unfolded. Otherwise in fine condition.
